Following a flood of entries at the Royal Highland show and the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust Game Fair, Scottish Land and Estates (SLE) has extended the entry deadline for its Helping it Happen awards until 20th July.

Stirling’s successful online local food market has vowed to continue following the shock announcement that The Food Assembly will be pulling out of the UK in September. 

Banchory Beer Festival 2018

The festival runs for 3 days at Deeside Rugby Club pitches, promising a weekend of beer, cider, gin, prosecco, Banchory’ s local rum, street food and live music. There are several bands already lined up, including The Mad Ferret Band and Sea Bass Kids, with more to be announced.

Cowal Highland gathering 2018

2018 will once again bring a huge range of family attractions to the Cowal Highland Gathering, already one of the most spectacular highland games in the world.

With its mix of highland dancing, pipe bands, wrestling, heavy athletics, solo piping, drum majors, ceilidh, children’s entertainment, fun run and local food, there’s something for everyone at the Cowal Highland Gathering.

Day of the Region returns this September with another exciting and varied programme of free events and activities organised by communities across Dumfries & Galloway.

This year’s activities include a fun run, a village tug-of-war, a huge outdoor film screening, an LGBT Pride celebration, community BBQs, circus skills workshops, crafting demonstrations and loads of live music.

Dornoch Whisky Festival

Once again, they are welcoming a phenomenal VIP to the Dornoch Whisky Festival family and they have a very special tasting lined up. They've also teamed up with some great industry brands to offer more events that they know you will love. And for those who have another love that isn’t whisky there are even more events than last year with cocktails, gin, beer, and chocolate!

Food, Cooking and Careers with National Chef Gary Maclean

Scotland’s National Chef and winner of BBC MasterChef: The Professionals 2016, Gary Maclean is inviting young people to attend his Q&A at the Royal Highland Show 2018.

This is an exciting opportunity for a young audience to be inspired by Scotland’s star chef and learn about a career in the industry.

Balgay Farm opened its gates on 21 February for an event to teach school children about local farming and food production.

The free Food & Farming Day was organised by the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) Perth & Kinross, sponsored by the Scottish Government's Food and Drink Industry Division.

Over 900 pupils are taking part a project which encourages classes to grow and harvest their own potatoes from scratch.

The Mr Jazzy Potato Project is organised by the Perth & Kinross Initiative of the Royal Highland Educational Trust (RHET) and sponsored by WCF Horticulture, a leading packer and supply chain manager to the horticultural sector, specialising in seed potatoes.
