Moffat Farmer's Market will celebrate its 10th birthday on Sunday 12 May 2019.
The monthly market takes place in Moffat's iconic high street and has provided trading opportunities for over 150 businesses and attracted more than 100,000 shoppers since it began.

This week, we met with colleagues from the LEADER Delivery Team (LDT), Tyne Esk LEADER and the Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP) team to support the EU Desk Officer, Egle Puosiunaite, from the European Commission on her visit to Scotland. Ms.
The Scottish Government's Regional Food Fund has awarded bursaries to ten young women to attend the Ethical Farming Conference free of charge.
The successful applicants include a Scottish post-doctoral animal welfare researcher now working in New Zealand, post graduate researchers exploring issues around agri-environment, food security and animal behaviour, veterinary medicine students, small holders and new entrant farmers.

The first burger made from quality assured Real Galloway Beef is now available in Aldi Stores across Scotland.
The Galloway Cattle Society has supported the creation of the Galloway Gourmet Burger as part of the LEADER-funded 'Defining Galloway Beef' project, which aims to make Galloway beef more accessible for people to buy.

Local food and drink initatives across the country have been awarded grants from the second round of the Regional Food Fund.
Grants totalling £95,700 have been awarded to 21 projects including a harvest food festival in Castle Douglas, an Ethical Farming Conference to take place in Dumfries and Galloway and a Streetfood Zone at the Stranraer Oyster Festival.

Scottish Rural Awards are delighted to announce the finalists in the fifth annual awards.
A set of 11 categories were open for nominations between July and October, with over 250 made nominations in total.
