Farming Scotland Conference

A half day conference including lunch, featuring a range of speakers from different organisations, all of whom will provide their views as they relate to agriculture in Scotland.

Rural crime prevention meeting

Police Scotland is holding a rural crime prevention meeting at Menmuir Village Hall, Brechin at 7pm on Thursday 8 December.

All farmers and members of the rural community in the Brechin area are invited to come along, where Special Constable Ricky Martin will be providing advice and information on a variety of issues. 

These will include:

  • Property Marking 
  • Property Security
  • Fuel Security
  • Animal Security
  • Machine Security 
  • Hare Coursing 
  • Suspicious vehicles

Scottish Rural Parliament 2016

The Scottish Rural Parliament brings together 400 people from across rural Scotland to discuss the issues of greatest importance to rural communities.

Participants will be agreeing a Manifesto for rural Scotland and deciding what actions need to be taken and by who, to ensure our rural communities are empowered, connected and sustainable.

Scottish Rural Parliament launch

Brechin is hosting a launch event for the next Scottish Rural Parliament gathering, which will take place in October.

The launch event will provide the opportunity for delegates to find out more about the Scottish Rural Parliament and to also help design the processes through which the local community can be involved with the national event, due to be hosted by Brechin in October 2016 through a short workshop. The event will also showcase local food, exhibits, drink and musicians.
