Over 100 people from across rural Perthshire braved the snow and ice to attend the launch of the Rural Perth & Kinross LEADER programme on 14 January. 

After a spot of networking at the various stands the meeting commenced with the Local Action Group Chair, with Jackie Brierton speaking passionately about the opportunities that the Local Development Strategy offers in terms of stronger networking, collaboration, a well connected sustainable local economy with communities coming together.

The Gathering 2016

The Gathering is Scotland’s largest event for charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations. It’s free and everyone’s welcome.

Organised every year by SCVO, it’s a place for people working in the third sector to network, showcase what they do and learn from each other. It’s also a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in finding out more about the third sector to come along and get involved. There’s a bustling exhibition and marketplace with over 100 exhibitors, and a packed programme featuring more than 60 workshops, seminars and training sessions.

Design the Wellbeing Hub!

Design the ‘Wellbeing Hub’ - Creative session 3.30pm-5.30pm

We need your ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm to design a new community facility where anyone can feel welcome and be inspired to live more mentally healthy lives. Hear from other similar projects and have a chance to shape the Wellbeing Hub as a new community initiative led by those with lived experience of mental health problems.

This is an opportunity for you to learn more about the Making Recovery Real initiative and the Good Mental Health for ALL draft mental health and wellbeing strategy for Moray. Discuss what it means for you and find out how you can become more involved in helping to make good mental health for all and recovery a reality.

Scottish Rural Action have announced that the first Scottish Rural Summit will take place on 24 November in East Lothian.

This event will bring together invited representatives from the public sector, rural communities and others to look at opportunities for rural Scotland to be empowered, connected and sustainable.
