Crofting
A major campaign to encourage farmers and others in Scottish agriculture to wear a helmet every time they get on a quad bike has been launched by RSABI, in partnership with The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies).
The six-month “Use Your Head. Use Your Helmet” campaign, kicks off this month with the launch of a video featuring farmer Callum Lindsay who sustained major head injuries when he had an accident on his quad in October 2023.

This years Scottish Agritourism Conference took place in Perth over the 18 and 19 of November.
A range of sessions took place over the two conference days including, a wide variety of speakers and panellists all relevant to the Sector. There was a real buzz around the venue as delegates connected and networked with exhibitors, sponsors and each other.

Proposals to simplify crofting regulation, encourage more use of common grazings and a range of other changes have received high levels of support in a recent consultation.
The Scottish Government has published an independent analysis of the responses to the consultation on proposals for Crofting Law Reform, together with those responses where consent to publish was given.

A call for farmers, crofters and others working in agriculture not to bottle up their worries, particularly after recent announcements, has come from RSABI, the charity which supports people in Scottish agriculture.
With widespread concern in the agricultural community about the potential impact of the Budget last week, the charity is urging people to avoid being caught up in an anxiety cycle, fuelled by social media and wider coverage.
