Paths for All's Expert Lecture
The Barracks Conference Centre, Forthside Way, Stirling, FK8 1QZ
At a critical time for the health of both our population and our planet, making Scotland a walking nation is more important than ever.
The lecture will challenge the norm, sharing new evidence and thinking to inspire transformational change at pace and scale. Dr Bull will share constructive ideas on walking and physical activity behaviour change programmes from around the world to achieve lasting change.
An international perspective
Dr Bull will share her wealth of knowledge from supporting countries to increase participation in physical activity through active transport, sport and everyday activities through advancing science, policy and practice. She will present evidence that will showcase walking as a key solution in tackling physical inactivity, poor mental health, increased health and transport inequalities and the climate emergency.
Dr Bull led the development of the WHO Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030: More active people for a healthier world, the new Global guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviours 2020 and the recent 1st Global Status Report on Physical Activity 2022.
Panel discussion
Chaired by Professor Nanette Mutrie, the lecture will include a panel session with representatives from Active Scotland, Public Health Scotland and Transport Scotland, providing an opportunity for topical discussion on opportunities for walking in Scotland.
This is a must attend event for anyone working in health, transport, and accessible environments for people to be active.
There will be an opportunity to network with other guests on the day over refreshments following the lecture.
