LLTNPA Resilient Farm Network
Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Authority Headquarters Carrochan Crescent Balloch G83 8EG
The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Authority is delighted to announce the launch of the Resilient Farm Network.
The five-year programme running from 2025 to 2029, based on peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and practical data-based demonstration on host farms, is focused on farming systems and management practices that can promote farm profitability and resilience, help nature restoration and reduce carbon footprints.
Three host farms will benefit from comprehensive financial, enterprise performance, environmental and biodiversity reviews along with support from a local discussion group and advisory. These groups will meet regularly to discuss progress, scope new ideas and share experiences. Reviews will be conducted annually to track progress and demonstrate the value in changing management practices.
Farmers and land managers within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park are invited to apply to become one of the three Resilient Farm Network Host Farms through this link with a deadline for applications of Sunday 10th November.
If you would like to hear more about the Resilient Farm Network, please come along to our opening evening on the 28th October. The evening also features a talk from John Ritchie of Montalt Farm about their farming journey, an excellent example of how a focus on production from pasture can transform the profitability and resilience of an upland livestock farm.
Speakers:
· Daniel Stout (LLTNPA Land Management Adviser) – Resilient Farm Network
· John Ritchie (Montalt Farm) – Our journey to a forage-based livestock system
· Peatland ACTION – Peatland restoration
