This new accredited Knowledge in Action facilitator’s training will equip you with skills and knowledge to run our new Carbon Literacy course in your group. Learn to deliver an Accredited Carbon Literacy Course and teach your community members all they need to know about climate change and what they can do about it.
Limited to 12 spaces. Priority given to those who plan to facilitate the course in their group.
The 'Climate: Knowledge into Action' course:
-Accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project
-Your participants can gain the Carbon Literate accreditation and receive a certificate on completion of the course.
-4 x engaging and informative modules:
- Module 1 – Climate Science & Justice
- Module 2 – Causes & Impacts: The cost of everyday activities and how communities and local areas will be impacted.
- Module 3 – Adaptation & Actions: Actions to reduce emissions at the individual and community level and the changes we need to adapt to as we move to net zero.
- Module 4 – Communicating Climate Change and the Need for Action.
Role expectations:
-Organise venue, signups, etc (the course is supposed to be offered free of charge to participants).
-Recruit 8-10 participants from your community
-Add local information to the 4 modules
-Deliver the course (online or in person. 4 x 2 hour sessions, 2 half days, or 1 full day).
-Review participants certificate forms
NB: No need to be an expert. You will be presenting information from experts! The facilitator presents the materials and guides activities and discussions with the group. It is a joint exploration of facts, not a lecture. The best facilitators are good at listening and passionate about making a difference. All the info is in the materials.
This Facilitator Training
This facilitator training runs over 4 online sessions. You must attend the 4 sessions on the following dates:
1.30pm - 5pm Monday 19th June (module 1 & 2)
1.30pm - 5pm Tuesday 20th June (module 3 & 4)
1.30pm - 5pm Monday 26th June (facilitation skills)
1.30pm - 5pm Tuesday 27th June (facilitation practice)
