The Scottish NEFERTITI Hub is excited to invite young people and new entrants to farming to an in-person, on-farm demonstration event at Glensaugh Farm, near Fettercairn on Thursday 25th August 2022, 10:30-3:00pm. In collaboration with the James Hutton Institute and the Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN), this event brings together experts in climate-positive and nature friendly farming to consider what farming for the future might look like and how young people and new entrants can support the transition to sustainable Scottish agriculture. This event will include a guided tour of Glensaugh farm, recognised for its climate-positive farming initiative, an introduction to the Business Incubator Hub project, as well as talks by Hutton experts on climate change, biodiversity and agroecology. Join us to learn from award-winning communicator and new entrant Aberdeenshire-based farmer Nikki Yoxall, who is implementing nature friendly farming principles with her ‘Wee Mob’ of native breed cattle.
Guest speakers include:
• Professor Alison Hester – Senior Research Scientist (The James Hutton Institute)
• Dr Alison Karley – Research Scientist (The James Hutton Institute)
• Antonia Boyce – Rural Business Enterprise Manager (The James Hutton Institute)
