The course will be run by Jasmine Grant, she has 40 years of practical experience in training and working sheepdogs. Jasmine has previously trialled extensively throughout Scotland and was part of the winning team of the BBC One Man and His Dog in 2005. Much of her time is now spent running her croft and teaching others to enjoy and make the most out of their working sheepdogs.

The course will start with an initial assessment of the stage of development of each dog and handler. The training will then be tailored to the specific needs of each handler with a variety of different sheep types to suit every dog. All ages and stages of dog and handler are welcome as the facilities caters for complete beginners to more advanced levels, including competitive trialling. Peer support and group discussions are an integral part of the course which is delivered in a positive environment. Practical tasks will be set at a level appropriate to ability and designed in order to increase knowledge and confidence at an appropriate pace. On completion of this course it is envisaged that participants will have a much better bond with their dogs and will enjoy working them and will continue to train them at home.
