SDS Awareness Training and Workshop

Self-Directed Support is the way social care is supposed to be provided in Scotland and gives people CHOICE AND CONTROL over how their needs can be met. Moray Wellbeing Hub are continuing our work on a pilot research project across Moray, and we want to hear your voice and experiences. Have you had experience of self-directed support? Are you a carer or PA either in a paid or unpaid role? Do you work for a care provider organisation? Have applied for SDS but not met criteria? Come along and share your experiences to help us create recommendations for Moray. We will be hosting an awareness training session, followed by the opportunity to discuss:

• How accessible was this?
• What worked well?
• Were there any challenges along the way?

After the training session and discussion workshop lunch will be provided with the opportunity to network. We hope to see you all there!

What makes Moray Wellbeing Hub courses different?
Real life experiences: We believe in harnessing the power of life experiences, taking what can be challenging and abstract concepts and make it more 'real', practically useful and easier to relate to for participants. Wherever possible our courses are delivered by peer-trainers, people who know the approaches and experiences first hand from their own life.

Keeping it local: Moray has a wealth of support and education organisations in wellbeing. Our courses are delivered for the benefit of the Moray community and therefore endeavour to help our participants build sustainable links beyond any course; resources they can signpost to and access in Moray. Wherever possible we will use local trainers, venues and resources, as well as promote and deliver our courses in mutual partnership with all sizes of local organisations.
