Scottish Community Shops Network
Online - ZOOM
For a number of years now, Plunkett UK has worked to provide an array of support to community-owned businesses in Scotland, specializing particularly in rural areas.
In partnership with the Dulverton Trust, Plunkett UK is establishing a network of peer support and learning exclusively for community-owned shop projects in rural Scotland, starting this autumn with an informal group Zoom call. This call is also aimed at projects where a shop makes up part of your service, for example, pubs and hubs which have shop elements.
If you have any topics you’d be keen to discuss, please let them know by dropping them a line at the email address below. Plunkett UK have the opportunity to host guest speakers as part of the agenda or give the floor to a community shop group to share their story with attendees all for a few minutes and take questions. They hope this network will start of new connections across the nation between fellow rural communities.
Regardless of where you are on your journey in community ownership, Plunkett UK would love to see you online and hear about your business. From the early ideas stage to already being open and trading, this will be a chance to share issues, experiences, highs, and lows in an informal discussion with your peers.
The aim is to host two network Zoom calls a year, to enable peer-to-peer learning and the opportunity for you to speak directly with staff at Plunkett UK, which in turn helps thems to shape the support that they can offer.
If you have any questions or recommendations, please email info@plunkett.co.uk. Alternatively, call their friendly team on 01993 630022 for a wee chat.
