Why place is so important

Place is where people, location and resources combine to create a sense of identity and purpose.

Place is at the heart of addressing the needs and realising the full potential of communities, no more so than on Scotland’s islands.

But who has responsibility for our island places, and how can we make sure they work for everyone?

This free online workshop aims to introduce how a place-based decision making approach offers a more joined-up, collaborative, and participative approach to the development of services, land and buildings on Scotland’s islands.
