Novara Ice Breaker Meet and Greet Campbeltown Town Hall Hybrid event
Online and In person at;
Campbeltown Town Hall, 54 Main Street, Campbelltown, PA28 6AB
Argyll and Bute Climate Action Network are proud to present this exciting opportunity to meet and speak to Nigel and Veronica, owners of the Novara Ice Breaker, as they discuss their plans to sail around the globe, meeting communities along the way.
This is a hybrid event, so those who cannot join in-person have the opportunity to join in online.
During this event, Veronica will discuss the Novara project and talk about adaptation.
One of Novara's Board of Advisors, Professor Bruce Glavovic, the Lead Coordinating author for the IPCC WGII AR6 Coastal Communities Chapter, will provide a recorded message to be shown during the event.
Bob Shepton, a Novara Patron, and Award Winning Sailor will speak about past Novara adventures.
Nigel will follow-up with Campbeltown's Adaptation Action Plans, developed through Architecture and Design Scotland, Climate Action Towns programme. This will include discussions beyond physical climate risk and also include transition risk; both just transition and stranded asset risk.
Directly following the event at the Town Hall, people are invited to book in to have a guided tour of the Novara Ice Breaker from 3-4pm
This event is free to all and all are welcome.
Refreshments will be served.
This and all events are open to any individual, community group or business. You do not need to be climate-focused, and you do not need to have an understanding of climate science.
This event is for anyone who wishes to see a fairer, greener future for Argyll & Bute and wishes to contribute to the development of our regional Argyll and Bute Network.
