Young Women in Tourism Awards open for entries

The Young Women in Tourism Awards are currently open for entries in four categories.
Those aged 30 and under on 1 January 2019 are eligible to apply for the awards, which is one of the first legacy projects announced for Scotland's Year of Young People.
The award categories are:
- Rising Star of the Year Award: sponsored by HIT Scotland. This award aims to celebrate the young women working in the tourism industry. It also offering the opportunity to recognise those who are making a positive impact on the tourism sector, and to encourage them to strive to achieve positions of leadership within the industry. They are looking for passionate individuals who are already achieving great things!
- Tourism Influencer of the Year: sponsored by Expedia. In an ever-evolving social media age, there is no denying the power and positive impact influencers are having on the tourism sector. This award aims to celebrate the very best influencers, those who are at the top of their game, and demonstrate a clear passion for tourism in Scotland. They are looking for influencers who are doing something different, building a loyal following, and helping to promote an area of the tourism sector.
- Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year: sponsored by Entreprenurial Scotland. This award aims to recognise successful entrepreneurs who are making a positive impact in the tourism sector, and celebrate the legacies they’re building. It also aims to supporting emerging female entrepreneurial talent in the tourism industry.
- Tourism Student of the Year: sponsored by Visit Scotland. Students are the beating heart of our sector’s future. This award aims to recognise and celebrate those students who are bringing fresh and exciting ideas to the forefront, and who are demonstrating a passion to progress in the tourism sector.
Each award winner will receive a package of support from Women in Tourism, as well as an opportunity to take part in bespoke placements with industry leaders.
Applications must be submitted by: 8 May 2019.
