Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture (SASA)

Assistant Molecular Biologist

Salary: £17642 - £19982

SASA is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Molecular Biologist within Diagnostics, Wildlife and Molecular Biology, SASA a division of Agriculture and Rural Economy Directorate (ARE) based in Edinburgh.

The primary role of this post is to assist in the management of the molecular biology laboratories and facilitating their use by staff from across SASA. The post holder will also assist senior staff with molecular based project work and be involved in SASA’s out-reach programme. 

This is a 6 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

Agriculture and Rural Economy Directorate is currently seeking applications for Business Assurance and Compliance Managers based in Edinburgh. The Directorate is responsible for disbursement of some €700m of EU agricultural funds annually.

The posts are part of a small Accreditation and Business Assurance team that oversees and monitors compliance with the EU’s regulatory framework for agricultural funds including the PA accreditation criteria and is tasked with coordinating and ensuring successful outcomes to the numerous EU and domestic audits. The team reports directly to the Deputy Director for Agricultural Policy Implementation and Directorate senior management.
