An Lanntair - Year of Young People Festival Coordinator

• Contract: 6 months fixed term, 3 days a week
• Salary: £18,000 pro rata

A fantastic opportunity is coming up for a young person (under 26) to coordinate an arts festival by young people for young people for one week in October 2018. Over the course of the festival young people will be given the’ reins’ of An Lanntair and have complete control over the programming of the organisation. They will program the auditorium with gigs, films, theatre and or cabaret events. Young people will curate exhibitions for the main gallery, bar and mezzanine exhibition spaces. They will also be responsible for marketing, design, promotion and stewarding.

Scottish Government - European Pillar 2 Account Manager

The Scottish Government are currently seeking applications for a European Pillar 2 Account Manager within the Agriculture and Rural Economy Directorate based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

Around £700 million of grant support is processed each year to Scottish farmers and wider rural communities through a combination of direct subsidies (100% funded by European funds) and the rural development programme (co-financed through a combination of domestic and European funds). The postholder will report to the Head of Finance, and will lead on the financial aspects of the Scottish Rural Development Programme 2014-20, whilst supporting the wider finance team to fulfil EU Audit and Scottish Government reporting requirements.

Auchinleck Community Development Initiative - Centre Manager

• Salary: £15,600 based on 24 Hours (5 days over a 7 day period)
• Based at: Auchinleck Community Growing & Resource Garden, Auchinleck
• Responsible to: ACDI Development Manager
• Contract length: 12 Months subject to a 3 month probation period.

The Auchinleck Community Growing & Resource Garden is an exciting community resource based within ex-mining village of Auchinleck, East Ayrshire. Supported by Ayrshire LEADER, Big Lottery, Tesco Bags for Help, the Robertson Trust and ACDI the garden will deliver a: Sensory Garden, a Poison Garden, a living pond, a working nursery, and a BBQ and seating/community play area.

ACDI is looking to recruit a motivated individual to join our team as the garden’s Centre Manager, who will be responsible for the management and development of this new and exciting community garden.

Specifically the Centre Manager will be responsible for increasing the number and diversity of visitors to the garden, all aspects of the garden’s development, revenue generation, delivery of services, and interaction with the local communities, schools and support groups ensuring that the Auchinleck Community Growing & Resource Garden becomes a truly effective and engaging community resource.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the empowering role that community growing can contribute to community life and resilience and who is able to communicate this to others. To meet the development and business needs of the Garden the role will involve both weekend and evening work.

A full clean UK driving licence is essential for this post. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, and the satisfactory outcome of the check is a condition of employment by Auchinleck Community Development Initiative.

Are you enthusiastic, outgoing with a good sense of humour and great customer care? Want to spend the summer working in the beautiful Angus countryside in 5 acres of wild flower meadow on a 5-star camping and glamping site. If so we are looking for a couple, or pair of friends to join us for the 2018 season.

They are looking for an active and enthusiastic couple or pair of friends, with a can do attitude and great customer service to join our team for the 2018 season to assist with the operation of our site. Applicants should work well under pressure and as part of a team, be able to work under their own initiative and prepared to work varied hours. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential if you have a willingness to learn, enthusiasm, flexibility, a sense of humour and an ability to tactfully deal with any problems that come your way.

About the opportunity
We are looking for an Innovation Manager to facilitate groups of land managers and appropriate experts to explore and develop their innovative ideas.  This is a brand-new role for the Farming and Land Use team, and you will be joining our friendly and professional team based at our office in Edinburgh, with frequent travel across Scotland.

Your role
As an Innovation Manager you will play a central role in our delivery of the Rural Innovation Support Service across Scotland. You will work with land managers (farmers, foresters, crofters) and other appropriate experts (which could include researchers, supply chain businesses, rural organisations, or anyone else with the right knowledge).  You will put groups together, and then support and motivate them to come up with, and develop, their own practical and sustainable innovative ideas.

About you
To be successful in this role, and fit in with our team in Scotland, we are looking for you to demonstrate the following experience and qualities:

• Excellent knowledge and experience of facilitation
• Excellent knowledge and experience of knowledge transfer
• Excellent knowledge of practical farming and growing, including low-input and agroecological production
• Confident communicator and public speaker

As an Evaluation Officer you will play a vital role in all our programmes by monitoring what we do to provide evidence and make the case for change, both externally and internally.  You will design and deliver a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track the success of our farming and land use programmes.  The evidence you gather will be used to further improve and adapt our work.
