RSABI Launches Debut Christmas Online Auction

RSABI Launches Debut Christmas Online Auction
Alan Robertson

A host of companies in the Scottish agricultural industry and further afield have rallied behind RSABI’s first Christmas online auction, which goes live today (November 1, 2024).

The charity, which supports people in Scottish agriculture, is expressing its thanks to everyone who is getting behind its month-long online Christmas auction as part of its winter fundraising campaign.

The charity is urging people to visit its website or social media platforms to browse the list of items either as a treat for themselves or a gift for someone special. All funds raised will go to support the valuable work of RSABI to provide practical, emotional and financial support to those in the Scottish agricultural industry.

A total of 30 lots have kindly been donated from a range of partners including Gleneagles, The Kilted Christmas Tree Company, T’Go Creative, Scone Palace, Pitreavie Golf Club, The Scottish Farmer, Ardnamurchan Restaurant, Edzell Golf Club, Farming Scotland Magazine, The Farmers Choir Charity Concert, South Powrie Farm, Blair Castle, Massey Ferguson and more.

Bids start at a minimum of only £10, so there’s a chance to pick up a bargain including:

  • For whisky fans, the Glenturret has gifted a distillery tour and bottle of The Glenturret 12 Year Old Single Malt and two glasses worth £112.
  • From the artist behind RSABI’s #KeepTalking collection of watercolours, art lovers could take home a beautiful piece from Gill Wilson’s collection featuring a white goose worth £350.
  • A merchandise bundle valued at over £150 from Sheep Game’s Cammy Wilson is perfect for any young sheep farmer in training.
  • Afternoon tea aficionados will be spoiled for choice with a selection of lots from Prestonfield House, Glamis Castle, Gleneagles and Atholl Palace Hotel.
  • Those looking for a trip away are in for a treat with dinner, bed and breakfast gifted by Ballathie House Hotel or how about a two-night stay in a Lothian Glamping pod, worth £350.

Pauline Macmillan, Head of Fundraising at RSABI said: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our kind supporters who have donated to our first online action. We’ve curated a fantastic range of lots – there really is something for everyone. We’re looking forward to seeing the bids come in and would like to thank bidders in advance for their generosity in helping to support our work in Scottish agriculture.”

Opening at 9am on Friday 1 November, the RSABI online Christmas auction is provided via Galabid. Auction-goers simply enter their bid and contact details to receive notifications of higher bids to ensure they don’t miss out on their desired items and bidders have until 11.55pm on Saturday 30 November to secure their lot.
