More Land Use and Agriculture Just Transition Community Workshops announced
The Scottish Rural Network will be supporting Scottish Government Just Transition policy colleagues with a second round of Land Use and Agriculture Just Transition Community Workshops at the end of August.
A second week of community workshops will be undertaken in the last full week of August to engage directly with rural and island communities across Scotland. The workshops will help shape and inform our approach to the Land Use and Agriculture Just Transition.
The first round of in-person events were held in the last week of July and covered a range of rural and island communities across Scotland.
Tackling climate change means that how we use and work our land will need to change. This will affect not only those in land use and agriculture but also wider rural and island communities. The workshops aim to bring together community members who are passionate about, or involved in, our Land and/or Agriculture as we seek to draw upon your lived experiences and knowledge as Scotland looks to transition to a more sustainable and equitable future.
The first in-person event will be held on Monday, 28th August, 2023 at Brodick Public Hall, Brodick, Isle of Arran, Argyll and Bute, KA27 8DL
Through these discussion, we will look to explain what a Just Transition is and how it relates to Land Use and Agriculture, its relevance to the local community and offer the opportunity to discuss and share your experiences on key themes. This will include rural economy and jobs, communities and place, people and equity and the environment and climate adaptation.
Whether you are a directly involved in Land Use and Agriculture, or simply a community member interested in making a positive impact, this workshop is for you. Come and connect, share ideas, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on building a more sustainable future.
Don't miss this chance to be a part of the development of this Land Use and Agriculture Just Transition Plan.
