Do you have a story to tell? GMAC Film is looking for people who are interested in developing an idea for a film and are yet to receive their first commission.

Established as a charity in 1982, GMAC Film is an open access media centre that delivers a creative and artistic programme for all people, regardless of age, background or income to acquire the skills, knowledge, resources and confidence to realise their ambitions in film and elsewhere in the creative sector.

Their growing programme spans across youth work, film education, training, film commissioning schemes, open access screening events, outreach work and office hire.

The Little Pictures programme is designed to support new writers/directors and producers with developing skills and taking creative risks to make their first funded film in fiction, documentary, animation or experimental genres.

The programme plays a crucial role within Scotland’s prolific screen sector by nurturing the early development of new filmmaking talent, with a focus on promoting equity, diversity and inclusion within the sector.

This year, GMAC Film will be commissioning 8 short films of up to 12 minutes for scripted, documentary and experimental genres and 6 minutes for animation. You will receive up to £4,000 production funding, along with training and support from the Little Pictures team and experienced industry mentors.

Applications are open to anyone over 18 from across Scotland, so whether you have a story or are looking to produce your first short film, they want to hear from you!
