Highlands Rewilding (HRL) are inviting all interested consultancies, practices and qualified freelancers to tender to collaborate with them on the next phase of their FIRNS funded project. They are now looking for a legal consultancy to support the development of their five community joint ventures (CJV).

HRL is a UK rewilding company, based in the Highlands of Scotland. Their purpose is to enable nature recovery and community prosperity through rewilding taken to scale in Scotland and beyond. HRL is a mass ownership company with no majority stakeholder and a diverse group of investors, many individuals and some from communities local to the estates.

This CJV work is part of the delivery of their FIRNS funded project “Joint Ventures for Scalable Community Benefits from Rewilding”. The project is supported by The Facility for Investment Ready Nature in Scotland (FIRNS), delivered by NatureScot in collaboration with The Scottish Government and in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund

The CJV project seeks to develop five collaborative enterprises with the local communities living adjacent to the lands that HRL manages, which benefit from ecosystem services and/or contribute to nature restoration.

As there is currently no accepted blueprint for joint ventures between a for-profit company, such as HRL, and local communities working together on nature restoration, this is very much an experimental project. Therefore, the legal consultancy aspect of the work might be also interesting for experts conducting research in the academia.

The invitation to tender can be found Here Please send your proposals to zofia.dziewanowska@highlandsrewilding.co.uk by 11th September who will be happy to any answer questions (deadline for question is 6th September).
