Community celebrations for Day of the Region

Over 200 free events and activities will take place in six Dumfries and Galloway communities this September for Day of the Region 2015.

Day of the Region is an initiative supported by Dumfries and Galloway LEADER and is now in its fifth year. It's a chance for community groups, organisations and individuals with an interest or skill to come together and promote what is available right on their doorsteps.

Local volunteer working groups are busy planning the special celebration events for all ages, abilities and interests. Annan, Canonbie, Eskdalemuir, Glentrool, Sanquhar and Whithorn will all open their doors and invite everyone to come along and be part of it!

There promises to be something for everyone with events and activities ranging from cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts, sports and fitness to pony rides, ma’asai warriors, emergency service displays, football, music and BBQs.
