- Professor Louise Heathwaite PhD, FRSB, FRSE, Chief Scientific Adviser for Rural Affairs and Environment (CSA RAE) to the Scottish Government will open the day, followed by former NFUS President Nigel Miller and Graham Young, Industry Development Director from Scotland Food and Drink who will highlight the issues affecting the sector
- Graeme Cook, Director of the Centre for Knowledge Exchange and Impact will discuss the benefits of collaboration
- The four new Agri-Tech Centres of Innovation in Agriculture will be introduced and case studies on Productivity in the Farms of the Future; Food Safety and Security; and Innovation in the Agri-Food sector
- Case studies include: software implementation of a potato yield model; the use of wireless IoT networks to deliver value for precision agriculture; creating an international barley hub; dynamic models to enhance disease control in aquaculture; precision livestock farming; satellite data for grassland agriculture; the development of industrial biotechnology in Scotland; waste valorisation and product innovation for growth amongst others
