Balgay Farm opened its gates on 21 February for an event to teach school children about local farming and food production.

The free Food & Farming Day was organised by the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) Perth & Kinross, sponsored by the Scottish Government's Food and Drink Industry Division.

Over 900 pupils are taking part a project which encourages classes to grow and harvest their own potatoes from scratch.

The Mr Jazzy Potato Project is organised by the Perth & Kinross Initiative of the Royal Highland Educational Trust (RHET) and sponsored by WCF Horticulture, a leading packer and supply chain manager to the horticultural sector, specialising in seed potatoes.

The Scottish Seabird Centre is seeking a young person to join their Board of Trustees for a year in celebration of Scotland's Year of Young People.

Applications are being accepted from people aged between 18 and 35 who work in the conservation, environmental education or the wildlife tourism sectors.

EUROPARC Conference 2018 - Registration now open

The theme for this event will be ‘European Parks: Inspired by the Next Generation’ will focus on what Parks can learn from young people and what changes need to be made to manage protected areas for future generations. Matching the ‘Year of Young People’ designated in Scotland for 2018, the conference will call for young people to be more involved in decision making, volunteering, working and living in Parks.

National Convention of Youth Drama

Youth Theatre Arts Scotland is proud to present Scotland’s first ever National Convention of Youth Drama in partnership with Macrobert Arts Centre and in celebration of Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018.

A comedy night in Blairgowrie is set to raise funds for RHET Perth & Kinross -- a charity dedicated to teaching children about food, farming and the countryside.

Phil Differ will headline the Comedy Night at Blairgowrie Town Hall on Saturday 24 February 2018. Phil Differ has a career spanning over thirty-five years and been behind many of Scotland’s best loved comedy shows including Chewin’ the Fat, Still Game and Offside.

A new fund will support young people who have an idea to promote Scotland's amazing natural environment in 2018.

The Future Routes fund has been created by Scottish Natural Heritage, YoungScot and ReRoute as part of the Year of Young People 2018. The fund is open to individuals and groups of young people from across Scotland aged 11-26.

Outer Hebrides LEADER Youth Fund launch - Benbecula

This is a launch event for the new Youth Fund from Outer Hebrides LEADER.

The LEADER Youth Fund is available to provide funding to projects aimed at supporting young people and youth initiatives. What is unique about this fund is that all decisions on applications are fundamentally decided upon by young people, through LEADER’s newly established Youth Local Action Group (Youth LAG).

The fund is being delivered in partnership with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and the Bridge Community Centre.

All are welcome. And refreshments will be provided.
