The 2018 Scottish Rural Parliament will take place in Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway on 14th– 16th November. If you live in or are passionate about rural areas in Scotland, you can attend to learn and make your voice heard. This year's theme is "Taking Action".
The event brings together people from rural communities with decision-makers, for three days of celebration and exploration. Participants examine a wide-range of issues affecting rural communities and make recommendations for change.

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park prepares to welcome campers as the second season of byelaws comes into effect.
The seasonal camping management byelaws come into effect on 1 March 2018 and cover certain parts of the National Park between March and September.

Scotland Food & Drink are carrying out a short online survey to gather views to help grow the food tourism sector in Scotland.
Food tourism includes any tourism experience in which a person consumes and/or learns about food and drink that reflects the local cuisine, heritage or culture of a place. This includes the active pursuit of unique and memorable eating and drinking experiences as well as agri-tourism.

The finalists for the 2018 Scottish Rural Awards have been announced.
The Scottish Rural Awards, partnered by Scottish Field magazine and the Scottish Countryside Alliance, celebrate the industry, innovation, dedication and community spirit of those who live and work in the countryside.

Winners of the 2017 Nature of Scotland Awards include Scotland's first-ever snorkel trail, a community garden and a project tackling plastic pollution.

The Annual Implementation Report (AIR) of the Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP) has been published.
Covering the first three years of the 2014-2020 Programme, the full report and Summary for Citizens can be viewed on the Scottish Government website.

Over half a million pounds has been awarded to projects in the first funding round from the new Moray LEADER Programme.
The first successful projects include Macbeth-themed holiday lodges, an exciting new social enterprise hub, a major event highlighting the issue of poverty in the area and renovation work on one of Elgin's top attractions.
