An event in Peterhead will be a chance to find out more about funding available from the North East Scotland Fisheries Local Group (NESFLAG).
Following an allocation of funding of £1.437 million from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and Scottish Government, the North East Scotland Fisheries Local Action Group (NESFLAG) will hold a launch event in Peterhead on Monday 7 March 2016.

A 12-week consultation on the Scottish Government's draft Wild Fisheries Bill and a draft Wild Fisheries Strategy has launched this week.
Views are being sought from individuals and organisations on new proposals to improve the conservation and management of wild fisheries and habitats.
Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Dr McLeod said she would welcome the input of those concerned with salmon and freshwater fisheries management to help ensure the sustainable future of this sector.

Fisheries Secretary Richard Lochhead has encouraged more applications to the European and Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF).
Eight Scottish Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs) from Shetland to Dumfries & Galloway have won a share of the EMFF worth £6.5 million.
The EMFF is the fund for the EU's maritime and fisheries policies for 2014-2020. The fund:

Scottish Rural Action have announced that the first Scottish Rural Summit will take place on 24 November in East Lothian.
This event will bring together invited representatives from the public sector, rural communities and others to look at opportunities for rural Scotland to be empowered, connected and sustainable.
