Bowhouse to open its doors to foodies
Bowhouse is excited to open its doors to foodies from around the country for the inaugural Bowhouse Food Weekend on the 22 and 23 July from 10am to 4pm, an indoor food festival that will give visitors the chance to taste Fife.
Our mission is to ensure everyone knows just how great Fife and its produce is, so we’re showcasing the best of food and drink from the kingdom over the free weekend event.
Fife has such varying food and drink on offer, so we are bringing together delicacies from Arbroath to Anstruther to St Andrews and beyond at the Bowhouse Food Weekend.
From Arbroath Smokies, to St Andrew’s Cheese, to Dundee Gin – there’s so much to choose from to suit any and all tastes. We’ve got starters, mains, desserts and even drinks covered, all we need are the guests to eat and drink all the delicious Fife produce!
We will also welcome local chefs to take part in cooking demonstrations so that guests can not only buy local produce, but learn the best ways to cook with it.
Here at Bowhouse, we want to provide an inspiring space for food businesses to create their produce, whether that be jams from soft fruit grown in nearby fields, wild game or rape seed oil harvested locally.
Geoffrey Smeddle, Chef at The Peat Inn, St Andrews offered his support to the event, saying:
"The East Neuk is an exciting and diverse area for food and drink and the development of The Bowhouse is exactly what is needed to connect our local producers with local (and hopefully not so local!) food lovers."
The family-friendly event is free to attend, and will also have children’s entertainment, including face-painting, preparing healthy food dishes and a ceilidh.
