2020 Virtual SURF Awards Presentation Dinner
Streaming live via Vimeo
SURF and the Scottish Government have teamed up again to deliver the prestigious SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration for 2020. These are presented each year to projects that are judged by a panel of independent regeneration experts to be performing outstanding regeneration work in some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged communities. This year the Awards had a particular focus on celebrating the efforts of projects in responding to the challenges and impacts of Covid-19.
The awards process concludes with a celebratory dinner event, at which the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government will reveal the 2020 SURF Award category winners. As public gatherings look uncertain for the foreseeable future this year the dinner, for the first time, will be streamed live from Glasgow via Vimeo, with projects and partners joining the hosts virtually.
The SURF Awards have additional category support from; Architecture & Design Scotland, Creative Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scotland’s Towns Partnership, the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and Skills Development Scotland.
The format of the event is as follows:
19.00 Welcome from SURF Chair Kate Wimpress
19.10 Presentation of awards by Aileen Campbell, Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government
20.20 After dinner speaker: TBC
