Summary of Project

Project involving young students from two Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (CCE) Traditional Irish Music Groups to link and share Ireland’s rich traditional musical culture, while learning about other Celtic nationals similarities.  It is envisaged the project will promote each partner’s own unique traditional music with a view to writing pieces of music together, learning new instruments, and hosting performances/events with a view to celebrating our shared Celtic heritage.

Planned activities are as follows:                                                                                       

  1. Partner two groups from County Wexford, Ireland (Danescastle Music Group and Gorey Ballygarrett CCE group with traditional music groups in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

  2. Schedule activities for visits to each LAG area, which will incorporate lessons, writing workshops and performances/events.

  3.  Development of new and unique written pieces of music, which will be available for use by existing and new students in the future.

What we are looking for in partners

Partners from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
