The search is on for Scotland’s nature champions

Whether you are nature champions, pioneering businesses, or passionate community groups, this is your moment to be celebrated!
With headline sponsor NatureScot, RSPB are recognising the people, projects and partnerships protecting Scotland’s nature.
The awards are open to all of Scotland’s nature champions: businesses, farmers, NGOs, schools, community groups, and individuals are all invited to enter. Whether you want to showcase your own achievements or those of someone else, now is the time to act, and it’s entirely free to apply!
Any work conducted since March 2022 is eligible for an award. There are 10 categories to choose from, including returning favourites Community Initiative and Youth Action, and our brand-new Outstanding Contribution Award.
Scotland’s nature thrives thanks to the dedication of passionate individuals. The Outstanding Contribution Award celebrates someone who has gone above and beyond to protect wildlife - whether by conserving species, restoring habitats, or leading impactful campaigns. Do you know an unsung hero who deserves recognition? Or are you that person making a difference? We welcome applications from those doing the work and nominations from supporters who want to shine a light on their achievements.
Anne McCall, Director of RSPB Scotland, and chair of the judging panel said:
“Inspirational people, projects and organisations across Scotland are working determinedly to tackle the nature and climate crisis. These awards are a celebration of their amazing achievements. Help us find our conservation champions by applying or nominating someone today.”
NatureScot Chair, Professor Colin Galbraith, said:
“We’re thrilled to play a part in the Nature of Scotland Awards, acknowledging the many people working hard across our beautiful country to save Scotland’s nature – and the planet’s climate – for future generations. I can’t wait to hear about the creative and inspiring work undertaken by this year’s entrants.”
The shortlist will be revealed at the Scottish Parliament on 10 September and the Awards Ceremony will take place on 20 November at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
You can submit your application to the RSPB website rspb.org.uk/natureofscotland by Tuesday 27 May and stay connected by following them on X and LinkedIn for regular updates.
