Funded places for University of Glasgow’s SFC Upskilling Project
University of Glasgow’s SFC Upskilling Project facilitates three runs of skills-focussed, demand-led CPD courses annually, with the aim of supporting employees and employers across Scotland to upskill and reskill in response to present-day economic challenges. In particular, the project aims to address skills gaps, unemployment issues and other health and economic adversities following the COVID-19 pandemic and EU exit.
The SFC Upskilling Project offers fully funded places to learners through the SFC University Upskilling Fund, allowing them to upskill free of charge.
The next course run commences on 25th September 2023 and features courses particularly relevant to rural and island communities:
- Introduction to Management & Leadership in Health Services (PG)
- Introduction to Rural Entrepreneurship (UG)
- Understanding Infant Mental Health & Development (PG)
- Sustainable Tourism (PG)
Since 2020, the University of Glasgow's Upskilling Project has empowered over 5.6 thousand learners from Scotland and beyond to upskill and reskill. Through their courses, learners have gained valuable skills, knowledge, and academic credits that have paved the way for exciting career advancements and further academic pursuits.
Each industry-led course:
- Has fully funded places available on a first-come-first-served basis to allow Scotland-based learners to upskill free of charge (worth £799)
- Is worth 10 academic credits
- Lasts 10 weeks
- Is fully online and flexible (with no scheduled classes to attend)
- Is informed by robust job market analysis and skills demand
