More information

During the Scottish LEADER 2016, a Cooperation Cafe session was held where participants generated and discussed ideas for potential LEADER cooperation projects.

Alice Mayne, Cairngorms LEADER Programme Manager, put forward a proposal for a pilot project across Scotland to create a youth network.

The proposed project would engage with young people to involve them with LEADER Local Action Groups and find ways to make it relevant, involving young people in project implementation and decision making as well as wider community development.

A transnational element could be a learning opportunity to better engage young people.

Discussions at the LEADER conference Cooperation Cafe covered many issues affecting young people such as lack of housing, jobs (particularly non-seasonal jobs), and transport.

Ideas discussed included a youth Local Action Group or youth development trust, the use of mobile communications and accrediting involvement.

You can see a full summary of discussions in the Cooperation Cafe report.
