Funding for Rural Enterprise & Farm Diversification

Do you have an innovative idea for a rural business or for a farm diversification project?

This free event is aimed at individuals or new and existing/expanding businesses based in and around the Kilsyth, Croy, Banton and Queenzieburn areas of North Lanarkshire.

Setting up a farm diversification is a good way to protect the future of your business with an extra income stream and gain a range of benefits which you don’t often find in traditional farming.

Climate Challenge Fund - surgery event

A number of events are coming up that will be useful for any community-led organisation in Scotland wanting to know more about applying for funding from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund (CCF).

Community Woodlands Association/Making Local Woods Work Conference

This year will see a change to the usual format: the conference will be starting on Friday and there will be groups from the rest of the UK who are involved in the Making Local Woods Work project.

This year’s conference will be much bigger than usual as organisers expect to welcome up to 150 delegates, including 50 or more from outside Scotland. There will be the usual mix of speakers, workshops, site visits, networking and ceilidh. Workshops will cover a range of topics including: woodfuel, adding value to timber, social finance, education, health and volunteering.

Farm diversification event

An event hosted by Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER on farm diversification. This event aims to raise awareness in farm diversification opportunities for farmers in the local area.

There will be presentations from local farming businesses that have successfully diversified along with an opportunity to find out more about how to apply for support for farm diversification from the LEADER programme- grants of up to £25,000 are available for eligible activities. Sandwiches, tea and coffee will be served. 

Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER drop-in session

Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER are holding a series of drop-in sessions this spring.

These sessions are drop-in events at a local level across the Kelvin Valley & Falkirk area and LEADER will be joined by local funders at each event.

Attendees will be able to discuss project ideas with LEADER staff and LAG members and also with the other funding organisations. They will also be able to find out information on how to apply and our forthcoming deadlines.
