Funding
A consultation has been launched on a potential replacement to a £780 million European funding programme, if Brexit goes ahead.
The current funding programme has invested in key areas such as modern apprenticeship schemes and the Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme.
The UK Government has committed to rolling out a successor programme to the Structural Funds called the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. However there is as yet no detail on how this fund will operate.

The Scottish Farm Land Trust are running a crowdfunding campaign to employ a development worker.
The Scottish Farm Land Trust aims to increase access to land for small-scale, ecological agriculture. They'll do this by acquiring land to be held in trust and rented fairly to new entrants and young people.
Their crowdfunding campaign aims to raise £10,000 to employ a development worker to progress this idea. At the moment the Scottish Farm Land Trust is entirely volunteer-run.

Applications are currently being accepted for the fourth round of SSE Renewable's Highland Sustainable Development Fund.
The fund is open to non-profit making organisations, community groups and charities across the Highland local authority region, with £1 million available.
Successful projects will have the potential to deliver transformational social, economic and environmental changes in the local area and support long-term community development.
The Kinloch Community Hub on the Isle of Lewis was formally opened by HRH the Princess Royal recently.
The former school turned community hub in Balallan is managed by the Kinloch Historical Society and includes a cafe, laundrette, charity shop and meeting space as well as housing the Historical Societies Museum and Archive.

A recent event focused on the contributions of younger islanders in renewing island life and contributing to sustainable island communities.
Fifty people from Scottish and Irish islands gathered in Grimsay, North Uist from 30 September to 4 October as part of the "Smart Islands in Scotland and Ireland: Supporting Enterprises and Young People" project, funded by LEADER in the Outer Hebrides and Ireland. The week week was hosted by local organisation CoDel (Community Development Lens) and the Scottish Islands Federation.

A further application round for the Food Processing, Marketing and Cooperation (FPMC) Scheme is now open.
This scheme can provide support grant to suppliers and producers to contribute to the Scottish Government's overall vision for food and drink in Scotland, which is to be a Good Food Nation, where it is second nature to produce, buy, serve and eat fresh, healthy food.
