Ten community ownership projects have been awarded funding from the Scottish Land Fund (SLF).
The programme is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership by the National Lottery Community Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

The Scottish Islands Federation (SIF) is seeking new members for its board.
The Scottish Islands Federation was set up in 2007 to assist island organisations to express their points of views, share their experiences and stories and make better representations at local, regional, national and European level on all issues affecting the sustainability of Scottish islands.

A new click and collect farmers' market will open soon in Balfron.
The Hub G63, a Drymen-based social enterprise, will launch NeighbourFood Balfron on Monday 23 September 2019 at Balfron High School, giving people across the area access to tasty, local produce.

A project to redevelop the Johnston School in Kirkcudbright is now getting underway, following the formal appointment of a contractor.
The exciting project will convert the empty and unused site into a multi-use building, including the conversion of the former gymnasium into a Dark Skies Visitor Centre.
To celebrate funders and project leaders met at the site this week, with Galloway Glens Administrator Jude Crooks boldly donning a spacesuit on loan from the Glasgow Science Centre.
Funding is available to help develop and grow community-based youth work provision in rural areas of Scotland.
After a successful first year, the Youth Scotland Rural Action Fund is back for a second year, with support again from The Robertson Trust and joined this year by the Gannochy Trust.

On 14 August 2019, we attended the Pairc Trust's house warming event at Gravir, on the Isle of Lewis.
New tenants were welcomed to the Pairc Trust's community-owned houses in Gravir, Isle of Lewis earlier this week at a special house warming event, held as part of the Community Land Week celebrations.

Community groups across Scotland are holding events from 10 to 18 August to celebrate Community Land Week.
Forty-five projects are taking part in the week-long celebration of all things community ownership this year -- three times as many as in 2018!

Two and a half years after a group of local people concerned that their village’s only pub was to be demolished formed ‘P.U.B’ (People United for Banton), the group are having their first monthly progress meetings with the contractors and design team working to turn the village’s aspirations into reality.

The aim of the project is to build pro-ecological attitudes towards the inhabitants of rural areas. It is directed to residents of areas covered by the LEADER programme, especially for people living in single-family houses, people with farms.
