Run by arts charity Creative Lives, the Creative Lives Awards celebrate the remarkable impact local volunteer-led creative groups across the UK and Ireland have on their communities. 

The Marine Fund Scotland (MFS) is now open for applications for the 2024-25 financial year.  The deadline for applications to the first round of MFS for 2024-25 is 9 May 2024, and applicants are asked to ensure that they have their application and supporting documentation submitted by this date.

Aviemore and Glenmore Community Trust (AGCT) is to take over the Glenmore Visitor Centre and Car Park after a successful application to Forestry and Land Scotland’s (FLS) Community Asset Transfer Scheme (CATS). 

The scheme empowers community organisations to ask to take over publicly owned land or buildings that they feel they can make better use of for local people. 

A case study is a detailed story of a specific subject – such as a person, group or project.

Case studies can be useful for showcasing the activities, challenges and lessons learned from a particular initiative - sharing the story behind the numbers, and providing real, relatable examples.

Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands - Woodland ACTION Officer

Over the 19-20 March, a Community Led Local Development (CLLD) workshop was held at The Studio in Glasgow. The event was hosted by Angus Rural Partnership (ARP) and support by the Scottish Rural Network (SRN). 

Eigg has a long history of crofting and has twenty-one crofts split across two townships. While traditional crofting is much less prevalent than it was 30 years ago, it still plays an important role in the economic, social, and culture of Eigg. 

Legislation to support Scotland’s rural economy and communities has passed Stage 1 in Parliament.
