The Asda Foundation Local Community Spaces Fund is set to invest over £1 million this year, providing support to community groups throughout the UK to create safe and welcoming spaces for individuals to connect and engage. The application window for this grant will open on Wednesday, 7th May 2025, at 10am, and will close on Wednesday, 28th May 2025, at 10am.*
Grants ranging from £10,000 to £20,000** will be available to fund accessible spaces where communities can interact, access support, and participate in activities. These grants aim to address the needs highlighted in the Community Insight Survey, where loneliness and isolation remain significant concerns for local communities.
Recognizing the importance of community spaces as lifelines for many, the fund supports projects to repair, renovate, and develop these essential hubs. Since 2022, the Asda Foundation Local Community Spaces Fund has £2.5 million invested in community spaces, and for 2025, the commitment will increase by a further £1.25 million.
Applicants must ensure their community space meets the criteria of being accessible and inclusive, providing opportunities for connection and service access. Through this initiative, the fund continues to tackle isolation and foster stronger community bonds.
*Please note, the application window may close earlier if there is a high volume of submissions or oversubscription in specific geographical areas. Any updates will be communicated through the Asda Foundation website, social media channels, and grant management system.
**Asda Foundation funding must account for at least 50% of the project’s total cost, with funding covering up to 90% of the total project expenses.
