Argyll Countryside Trust (ACT) are looking for a passionate and practical person to lead their Rainforest Squad and help manage the Rainforest Hub at Kilmory in Lochgilphead.

The Hub is a busy base where ACT highlight Argyll’s rainforest as a resource to support enterprise, employment, and community connection. If you love working outdoors, care about temperate rainforest restoration, and enjoy bringing out the best in people, this could be the perfect role for you.

Location: Lochgilphead, Mid-Argyll

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week

Contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension.

Salary: £31–34K (depending on experience and qualifications)

Deadline to apply: Tuesday 6th May, 2025

As Rainforest Operations Supervisor, you’ll take the lead on planning, scheduling and supporting the day-to-day work of our Squad, a small team that’s learning valuable skills while helping to take Argyll’s Rainforest Strategy forward. You’ll help them grow in confidence and capability, making sure everyone stays safe, supported, and motivated.

You’ll also work closely with other ACT staff to help maintain our Rainforest Hub, support community activities and outdoor learning, manage practical projects like our new tree nursery, and keep things running smoothly.

It’s a really rewarding role where no two days are the same, and you’ll be working across some of the most beautiful landscapes in Argyll, as part of a friendly and supportive team.

Closing date for applications is Tuesday 6th May, 2025
