Over 180 diverse projects across rural Scotland, will receive grants ranging from £100,000 to less than £500, from the Rural & Island Communities Ideas into Action (RICIA) fund.

The fund encourages and supports not-for-profit community groups with innovative approaches to community-led local development which include solutions to net zero and just transition goals, tackling rural poverty and supporting rural communities through the cost crisis.

Extending freedom of information: how will voluntary organisations be affected?

Freedom of Information (FoI) is under the spotlight in Scotland just now. This webinar will concentrate on calls to extend FoI legislation to cover publicly funded services delivered by voluntary sector organisations. It will help voluntary organisations to understand the proposals, provide a space to raise and discuss their views, and shape SCVO’s policy positions on extending the coverage of FoI.

Small Landholdings Modernisation: Consultation Closes 14 Jan 2023

Overview

A total of £964 million has been allocated to the Rural Affairs and Islands portfolio in the Scottish budget.

More than £620 million will provide ongoing agricultural support ensuring stability to farmers, crofters and land managers in 2023-24.

Protection for Scotland’s nature is set to be urgently scaled up, with 26 priority actions to restore Scotland’s natural environment and halt the loss of biodiversity by 2030.
