Shortening supply chains on Arran

Community Led Local development (CLLD) funding supported businesses on Arran to work together and maximise local networks and supply chains.

Organisation name: VisitArran

Funding received: £4,304.82 from Scottish Government

Date awarded: 01/08/2022

Location: Isle of Arran

VisitArran is Arran’s main business association. They identified that many Arran based businesses would like to be more ‘green’ but were unsure where to start.

There was a gap in respect of where to go for support and guidance and so the idea of a dedicated Business Sustainability & Resilience Advisor (BSRA) evolved.

Funded through Community Led Local development (CLLD), the BSRA supported businesses to work together and maximise local networks to facilitate small changes, which produced positive impacts.

In this case study, Katie Murchie of VisitArran shares details of the BSRA role, project development and the lessons learned – Access the case at Visit Arran – CLLD

Katie stated: “We have seen collaboration amongst businesses improve. More local businesses are using Arran suppliers”.
